The Oklahoma Turning Point Council (OTPC) turned “25” and celebrated in a big way! On December 15th at 2:30 pm at the Downtown OKC YMCA, we celebrated twenty-five years of “Growing Together”! This event was designed to celebrate community members like you who have helped make this milestone possible!
Did you realize Oklahoma is the only state in the nation that still has a standing Turning Point Council twenty-five years later? OTPC is being recognized and celebrated for our accomplishments and sustainability! Neil Hann Leadership Awardee
Brandie Combs
Brandie began her state service in the fall of 1994 as a Maternal and Child Health Consultant with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. She has served as a Regional Health Consultant as well as Assistant Director of the Oklahoma Turning Point Initiative. Brandie was one of the original “Turning Point Consultants” when the program first began in Oklahoma. Combs currently serves as Regional Area Director for Community Health District 5 of the Oklahoma State Dept. of Health which includes the counties of Beckham, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, Tillman, and Washita.
Health Innovator of the Year Awardee
Rep. Ajay Pittman
Representative Ajay Pittman, who is now serving in her third term headed into the 59th Legislative Session. She is a sixth-generation Oklahoman, who is an American political leader and community activist. Pittman is the first female millennial elected to serve in the Oklahoma 57th State Legislature.
As a growing champion for interagency collaboration, she was chosen as the legislator who showed the most passion for health innovation.
